The Joint Purchasing Program MACCS™ (Municipal Apartment Condominium Collection Service) was started in 2004 to encompass 97 properties and 16,000 multi-family units. TrashPro handles the day-to-day operations of the MACCS™ Program such as customer service requests, order scheduling and account billing. The shared services program saved these municipalities an impressive $650,000 a year over the first 5-year term for a total of $3.25 million.
Based on the success of MACCS™, the program was expanded in April 2009 with the addition of three new municipalities to encompass a new total of 135 properties and 23,000 units. TrashPro saved approximately $4.3 million collectively over the second, 5-year contract term for these municipalities. In June of 2014 the program began its third 5-year term with 15 municipalities which totaled 25,008 multi-family units. Presently, the program has 157 properties with 25,935 units. It is estimated that TrashPro will save an additional $813,000.00 collectively over the expected 5 year term.
With the adoption of new programs, databases and procedures, TrashPro is able to take better control of the 1,155 permanent containers, 545 annual roll off orders as well as weekly bulk pickups. Each truck that runs the MACCS Program routes is equipped with a GPS tracking device putting TrashPro and its clients in the driver’s seat. Our extensive database including dimensions of dumpster enclosures, pictures of the containers and maps outlining the exact location of each dumpster at every MACCS property allows us to be able to point both the hauler and the property to the exact location in question. New ordering procedures on our website give TrashPro direct communication with the properties while giving them further confirmation that their orders are being taken care of.
