Robb Willis became involved in the military sector while working with United Communities for 2 years prior to their award of the McGuire Fort Dix mega base project, of which Harry Bagot, CPM was the project manager. Robb continued for 3 years in several positions as a consultant. TrashPro has also been the consultant to Interstate Realty Management Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Michaels Organization, for the past 12 years managing their entire portfolio of 357 properties. TrashPro worked closely with Interstate when they were first involved with Fort Leavenworth.
A large military housing company started out with a pilot program of seven of their Navy facilities. After TrashPro was able to dramatically affect three of those seven immediately with substantial annual savings, this client has updated TrashPro’s contract to include their entire portfolio of over 55 military bases. TrashPro was able to find incredible savings without altering the level of service and only had to change the contractor in two cases.
With the success TrashPro had with the previously referenced company, we have since brought on another large, nation-wide, military housing management comapny into our portfolio.
TrashPro’s success can be contributed to 3 factors in obtaining competitive market pricing for our clients:
- Understanding the contractor’s cost of collection – Trash is a market driven industry. Disposal can account for anywhere between 36% to 48% of their monthly billing. Every market has a different disposal cost ranging from single digits to hundreds of dollars per ton. TrashPro’s extensive database provides this information and therefore allows us to have a unique leverage in negotiations.
- Having national recognition by the two largest haulers TrashPro maintains a national contract with one that allows our clients to fall under our umbrella. TrashPro also maintains a Master Agency agreement with the other. With TrashPro’s national presence we also have a relationship with the independent haulers in multiple markets.
- TrashPro contributes to the heavy emphasis on maintaining and strengthening sustainability efforts by initiating new recycling programs in locations that are not currently participating while constantly educating our staff and clients on the evolving industry standards.
When TrashPro acquires a new client and reviews their portfolio, we work closely with the existing hauler. We have been successful in maintaining the same hauler in 93% of the cases.
